Wedding ceremonies

Your ceremony is the beating heart of your wedding.

It deserves to be elevated into something utterly bespoke, designed especially for you.

Your wedding ceremony should feel as unique as you are as a couple, so finding the right celebrant is an important part of the journey.

I’m here to get to know you, listen to your ideas, and create a ceremony that feels personal, meaningful, and full of heart, with a few laughs along the way too.

Whether you’re planning something simple and romantic, a fully themed celebration, including children or pets in your special day or going for something more traditional, your ceremony should feel completely true to you.

From handfasting and drinking from the quaich to Scottish blessings and traditions you’ve created yourselves, you can include as much personality and meaning as you’d like.

My role is to take care of the legal side of things, keep everything running smoothly, and create a ceremony you and your guests will remember for all the right reasons.

The process

1. Let's have a chat

We'll begin with an informal, no obligation chat to see whether I'm the right fit for your wedding.

We can meet in person for a coffee or have a call online. It's a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about your plans, how you visualise your ceremony and answer any questions you might have.

3. Planning your day

Around three months before your wedding, I'll guide you through the next steps.

I'll remind you about submitting your M10 forms to the registrar, which are required for your marriage to legally take place in Scotland. These must be submitted no later than 29 days before your wedding.

I'll also send you some gently 'homework' - a relaxed and enjoyable way for me to learn more about your story, relationship and all the details that help shape your ceremony.

2. Secure your date

If you decide you'd like to book me, a £98 booking fee is payable directly to Humanist Society Scotland. This standard fee secures me for your wedding date and supports the charitable and campaigning work of Humanist Society Scotland.

It also provides reassurance that, in the very unlikely event I were unable to attend, another accredited Humanist Celebrant could seamlessly step in and provide the exact same bespoke ceremony we've planned.

4. The ceremony

My fee for creating a delivering your bespoke, legally recognise ceremony is £500.

This is separate from the Humanist Society Scotland booking fee and is usually invoiced around three months before the wedding.

I'm happy to offer flexibility around payment dates where needed, provided the balance is settled no later than one month before your ceremony.
